Important Information for Our Clients:
Health Concerns
While making your
appointment, please inform us of the following
situations and if you are currently under a doctor's
care for any of the following conditions:
Any
Malignancies
Heart Conditions
Circulatory Conditions
Lymphatic or Vascular concerns or conditions
Recent Injury
Recent Surgery
Inflammation that is not resolving
High Risk Pregnancy
Illnesses
Because we are a learning
facility and operated by students, we sometimes neglect
to make correct hygiene and safety judgments. It is for
this reason that we do not work on those persons who
have the illnesses of HIV/AIDS and/or
Hepatitis C. Please inform us if this is your
situation and we will give you phone numbers of local
facilities which are able to offer you massage.
Multiple Appointments
We ask that you do not
book massages consecutively for several weeks or months
with only one particular student. We seek to provide the
student with many first hand learning experiences with
the many diverse opportunities associated with the
clients' various injuries, body types, and
personalities.
What About Tipping?
Tipping is an acceptable
practice and most appreciated to offset the operating
expenses of the school. The law for Washington State
licensed schools however, prevents the students from
making any compensation whatsoever from the massages
they give in the Student Clinic. This includes tips,
bartering, or gifts. All tips are deposited in the
school's operating fund and cover the expenses
associated with student's discounted tuition, books, spa
supplies and other classroom learning materials.
Do you have to remove clothing?
Many people are concerned
about having to remove all or most of their clothing for
a massage, especially if this is their first experience.
AICM is licensed by the state of Washington, therefore
our draping requirements are very strict. You will be
covered at all times by a flat sheet and blanket and/or
bath towel.
Most clients dress down to
their underwear, however, if you will feel more
comfortable in a bathing suit or shorts, that is
completely acceptable. We want you to feel comfortable
at all times.
